Nepal Rastra Bank - Assistant Second Level - Previous Exam Math Question - Ratio & Proportion

Introduction - Ratio & Proportion
In science, a proportion is a connection between two numbers demonstrating how often the principal number contains the second. For instance, if a bowl of natural product contains eight oranges and six lemons, at that point the proportion of oranges to lemons is eight to six (that is, 8:6, which is identical to the proportion 4:3). Also, the proportion of lemons to oranges is 6:8 (or 3:4) and the proportion of oranges to the aggregate sum of natural product is 8:14 (or 4:7).

Solve Question in English:
Let A Be the Total Amount
A to 3/7 = 1350
3A = 1350 × 7
A = 1350 × 7-3
A = 3150

Total amount (A) = Rs. 3150

So,
By submitting 1: 3 part of the total amount,
3150 to 1: 3 part equal
3150 × 1 ÷ 1 + 3
3150 × 1-4
= 787.5

By submitting 1: 3 part of the total amount,
3150-787.5
= Rs. 2362.5

Answer: Rs. 2362.5 remaining left.

  • The numbers in a proportion might be amounts of any sort, for example, amounts of people, objects, lengths, weights, and so forth.
  • A proportion might be either an entire number or a portion.
  • A proportion might be composed as "a to b" or a:b, or it might be communicated as a remainder of "an and b".
  • At the point when the two amounts are estimated with a similar unit, as is frequently the case, their proportion is a dimensionless number. A remainder of two amounts that are estimated with various units is known as a rate.
