Question No. 1 - Profit & Loss

Question No. 2 - Mean

Question No. 3 - Ration & Proportion

Question No. 4 - Unitary Method

Solution in English Medium

1) profit and loss Question

If a shop has a umbrellas. What is the loss of 10 percent sold in 240, and how

much should that umbrella be sold for 40 percent profit?
Here,
Sales Price: Rs. 240, Loss Percentage: 105, Purchase Price?
Selling 10% of losses,
Sales price if Rs. Yes, CR. Is 90
Therefore
sales price           purchase price
Rs. 90                Rs. 9. 100
Rs. 240              Rs. ?

Required purchase price: 100 × 240-900
= 266.67

Now, the purchase price is Rs. Take a 40% profit from 266.67. In this case
Sales Price Rs. Take a 40% profit from 266.67. So,
Sales Price: Purchase Value + profit
Here, the profit value × 40 percent
= 266.67 × 40 ÷ 100 = Rs. 106.67
So sales price = Rs. 266.67 + Rs. 106.67

Answer = Rs. 373.34

2) Ration and Proportion Question
A total of Rs. 510 rupees in a jumble. Rs 50 25 and Rs. If 20 notes are in

proportions of 2: 3: 4, how many notes are there? Find out
According to the question, a total amount of Rs. 510 in a total of Rs
Out of which, the ratio of notes of 50, 25 and 20 is 2: 3: 4.
Number of notes per template?
Here,
Number of notes 2 to 50 × 9 × 510
= 1020-99
= Rs. 113.33

No. of 25 3/9 × 510
= 1530-99
= Rs. 170

No. of 20 4/9 × 510
= 2040-99
= 226.67

Now,
When the number of notes is divided,
Rs. 50 of the proportion of the note. 113.33
So, here only 2 notes of 50 can be considered.
(Remaining 113.33-100 = 13.33)

Rs. 25. 170
So, here are only 6 25 notes.
(Remaining 170-150 = 20)

The amount of the proportion of the note is Rs. 226.67
So, only here are notes of 11 20.
(Remaining 226.67-220 = 6.67)

In the end, the ratio in question is not shown as per the amount of money as per

the ratio
Total balance = 13.33 + 20 + 6.67 = 40.

Now the need to be mindful, this remaining 40 can not be 50, and 25 can not be

2, so it should be 20.

Therefore, the number of notes remaining in the above mentioned sample of the

total answer is equal to Rs. 510
Number of notes to 50 = 2
Number of notes of 25 = 6
Number of notes of 20 = 11 + 2 = 13
Answer: Deposit amount = 2 × 50 + 6 × 25 + 13 × 20 = Rs. 510

3) Mean Question

Solution in English
Here,

Total year (ΣX) and the total student number (N)

8 years of age 13 = 8 * 13 = 104
3 years of age = 3 * 16 = 48

9 years of age 14 = 9 * 14 = 126
4 years of age 18 = 4 * 18 = 72

Now, Mean = ΣX / N

(ΣX) = 104 + 126 + 48 + 72 = 350
N = 8 + 9 + 3 + 4 = 24

= 350/24
= 14.58

Therefore, Mean = 14.58.
